Are YOU Suffering From Back Pain?
I’ve been a Physical Therapist for over 20 years and my business, Focus PT, has been open for 7 years.
As a resident of Louisville for 15 years, I love being in the great outdoors.
But I fully understand the frustrations you will be feeling if you are suffering from back pain.
Typically, my patients are usually 40+ active adults. What I mean by active adults is someone working a lot of the time, with kids in school, and who are running all over the place to take care of their family. They have no time to take of themselves or even search out appropriate, long-lasting solutions. Often, those people are dealing with chronic issues.
By that I mean pain or an injury that’s lasted for longer than a month or two and no one has given you the answers you want to have a long-lasting solution and be able to get better without having surgery.
Most patients we see have had a condition that they feel hasn’t been helped by anybody else for traditional therapy or medical care.
I know the aim is to:
- Avoid surgery and the concerns that go with it
- Decrease a dependency on medications
- Learn how to heal your body and stay healthy for a long period of time.
- Aspire to regain the ability to engage in physical activities.
- Lead a more active lifestyle overall.

- Why rest is NOT going to make things better.
- Why you still have back pain, even after 6 months
- That if you have a disc issue or sciatica, nothing can be done and you just have to ‘put up’ with it! This couldn’t be further from the truth!
- Plus, much more
What I find particularly rewarding about my work is my deep understanding of the everyday struggles people face with chronic back pain.
I’ve personally experienced much of this discomfort myself, which allows me to empathize with my patients’ frustrations. It’s not always about extreme agony, but rather a persistent discomfort that hinders your ability to engage in the activities you love.
For instance, after spending long hours at work, I often find my back and neck stiff, making it challenging to pursue activities like working out or hiking, or simply enjoying quality time with family without being distracted by pain.
I empathize with those who feel trapped in their pain, unable to live life to the fullest, whether it’s getting a good night’s sleep without discomfort or enjoying physical activities. My greatest satisfaction comes from helping people regain their freedom to engage in the activities they love. When patients come to me feeling stuck, unable to exercise, or even think beyond their daily pain, I strive to offer alternatives to the conventional approaches like medication, injections, or surgery.
